Enola Holmes, in which Brown starred for Netflix in 2020, did well enough to warrant a follow-up. Brown’s debut as a producer was on the first movie, and she has subsequently embraced the executive position on other movies.

Brown is slated to produce and star in two upcoming movies, including Damsel and The Girls I’ve Been, in addition to the Enola Holmes series, indicating that the actor has a definite interest in bringing contemporary, female-driven storylines to life.

The Electric State, a high-profile movie from Joe and Anthony Russo, will also have Brown as the lead. The science fiction film is now in post-production and is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in 2024.

It’s unknown when production on Stranger Things season 5 will begin due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, but Brown’s career over the past few years has shown that she will continue to be a mainstay of the TV and film industries for many more years to come.
